“They were the org that helped me about 15 years ago when I was having some real estate commercial property issues with the city. The city was planning to eminent domain the property and it was going to affect us, and they were a big help at that time. They have continued to be a big help to Shanghai and many other businesses.”
Today, Ernie’s relationship with Evergreen has come full circle. Recently appointed as Board Secretary for the organization, Ernie continues to leverage his experience to support other entrepreneurs navigating the challenges of owning a business.
Evergreen’s Annual Celebration in 2024, held at the Brooklyn Winery, will shine a light on Shanghai Mobile Kitchen Solutions. Shanghai Mobile Kitchen Solutions has been awarded the Business of the Year award, and Ernie will be recognized on May 20th.

Reflecting on this milestone, Ernie shares, "It definitely feels good to be honored in this fashion, especially through Evergreen." Looking back on the decades of hard work, Ernie acknowledges the crucial role played by his family, his team, and the consistent support of organizations like Evergreen.
“Personally, I don’t think I would be here without my mother and father starting this journey, trying to go down this road. You know, me deciding 20 odd years ago to jump on board. Me deciding to tackle this business in the last 4 years. Definitely couldn't do it without the staff, couldn’t do this without Evergreen’s help.”
Ernie is forever grateful for the customers and clients who put Shanghai Mobile Kitchen Solutions in the successful position we are in today.
“I’m very proud of the number of customers that we have served, and basically supported throughout the number of years I’ve been in business. It’s a reflection on the business’s, or Shanghai’s principles. I think it’s very reflective of that.”
Amidst the rewards, Ernie remains humble as he offers supportive advice to fellow business owners: “Just be happy. Have a good time, enjoy the journey. Hiccups will happen. Speed bumps will happen. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep going.”
