Shanghai MKS has been designing and manufacturing custom mobile kitchen solutions for over 30 years.

Whether you’re serving bubble tea, pierogies, or developing an entirely new concept, our goal goes beyond simply fitting equipment into a vehicle or cart. We design around how you actually intend to operate.

Especially in high-volume markets like NYC, workflow, equipment placement, storage, utilities, and surge-production capacity can make the difference between a kitchen that simply works and one that performs efficiently when you need it most.

Our Design-to-Build Approach

We offer a collaborative design-to-build process that considers both the physical kitchen and how that kitchen will actually operate around your menu, production requirements, staff, service volume, and intended venue.

• Type and approximate size of mobile unit

• Applicable jurisdiction or compliance requirements

• Anticipated budget range, if established

Project Budget & Performance Expectations

A mobile kitchen is more than a vehicle or cart with equipment installed—it is a working commercial kitchen expected to perform day in and day out.



Project budgets can vary significantly depending on the platform, equipment package, fabrication requirements, utilities, compliance standards, and level of customization.

Just as importantly, the appropriate investment depends on the level of performance expected from the finished kitchen.

At Shanghai MKS, we design and build with real-world daily operation in mind: workflow during peak service, equipment demands, durability, sanitation, serviceability, utility capacity, and the wear and tear that comes with repeated commercial use.

Our objective isn’t simply to build a unit that looks great or meets minimum requirements on delivery. We want to build a mobile kitchen that continues to perform when you’re busy, day after day.

If you already have an anticipated project budget, please share it with us. Understanding both your budget and operational expectations helps us recommend the most appropriate approach—whether that’s a fully custom build, modification of an existing unit, or one of our pre-fabricated solutions.

Our goal is to understand how you plan to use your mobile kitchen so we can help you invest in the areas that matter most—reliable day-to-day performance, efficient operation, and long-term value.

Current Production Schedule

Because each of our custom units is handcrafted and built to specification, our production capacity is intentionally limited.

We are currently booking custom builds approximately six months out.

If that timeline doesn’t work for your project, we may also have pre-fabricated or partially completed units that can significantly reduce the production timeline while still providing opportunities to customize the kitchen around your needs.

Third-party financing may also be available on a case-by-case basis.
